H3SoD: Crag Hack's campaign map 2

Unread postby Apeman » 17 May 2006, 07:20

I'm having trouble finishing this map. The first map was easy enough and I had little trouble with that one. But the second one pits me up against three developed castles and two developed heroes. Everytime I can barely kill one of them, leaving me with little troops. At that moment the other enemy hero invades through either the portal or the gateway. He usually has 100+ marksman 25 monks and sometimes over a hundred royal griffins, while I'm stuck (with luck) with 8 ancient behemoths.

I can't seem to finish of the red enemy, should I just build up an army defend my terrrain and gold mines and then rush towards the end goal, killing this undead hero which has 70+ deathknight, thus me requiring a large army?

Any tips would be helpful!

Yes, I think you have to rush it. (Or at least, that’s what I did last time I played that map IIRC.)

I also got murdered anytime I tried to fight the armies, so I just stayed in my castle and built up a strong enough force, then rushed towards the hero you had to kill..

If it's AB then there was one tactic I once used in every map and which worked in all but 3 of them... just rush away right away and beat the enemy before it has a chance to move  I had no problems killing the neutrals and mostly I had taken 60% of the castles before the enemy got it's super hero after me and by that time I had amassed myself an army that I sent to the hero I used, mostly with chains I admitt, and then it got easier... the fastest win i had was 2 days :devious:
