HoMM III RoE/AB/SoD/Complete Intro

Unread postby ThunderTitan » 16 May 2006, 23:42

It was said in another thread that the H3:RoE intro was changed in SoD and the Complete Edition, and was completly different in AB. I don't recall there being any difference between RoE, SoD and Complete. Never seen the AB one. I don't recall any changes. Anyone know for sure?!

Actually, SoD comes without the intro :(

I have Complete, but I don't know the RoE intro. Anyhow, what differences could there be? Nothing major, I reckon. In Complete, it's with Catherine coming from Enroth, inspecting the battlefield, a few sequences from the battle itself, and then Catherine again lifting a torn Erathian banner up high and saying "It shall not be dishonored" or something similar.

The RoE intro had the classic "huge titan foot coming down and stomping everything" moment. I laugh out loud every time I see it. :)

The Complete version also has the giant foot scene, as I recall.

The intro in Complete is the same as in RoE (Cathrin arriving).
The intro in AB is with Gelu hunting (was it orcs??)

AFAIK there was no intro in SoD.

Someone said that the intro in Complete/SoD was a cut up version of the one from RoE. Guess he was wrong.

AFAIK, there are 2 Intros: RoE and AB.

Problem is: Complete is missing the AB one. That means: If you only have H3 Complete you won't get to see the AB intro. (Same holds for SoD.)

Sucks pretty much ...

Never seen AB video too. But asked for it previously in other thread - no response given yet. So because I don't know what I'm missing - less nostalgic for.

Though I'm owner of Complete and according to proclamation written on this product I have regular entitlement for all AB, RoE and SoD missing pieces....

Yeah, the point is: The Edition is called "Complete" but it is definitely not - the intro is simply not there. (Doesn't matter if its cool or not.) Grrrr.

Besides: There's a similar issue with Heroes II Gold: It doesn't contain the expansion soundtrack (onyl the original one). Again: Grrrr.

The AB intro was pretty cool with Gelu, Roland, Catherine and a sharpshooter running through the woods killing a couple of goblins then a minotaur try to chase them but before he was about to run after them, a dendroid grapped hold of the mino, it did for a while but an ogre mage enraged the minotaur so he got free from the grasp of the dendroid and chopped the dd down. The sharpshooter turns around looking at the ogre magi and the mino before following the rest of the group in a cave where the Armageddons Blade hangs in the air over an abyss. Lame it wasnt in the Complete version it may not be as long as the RoE intro but cool anway.

I'm sure dragon fans were even more psyched about what followed immediately afterwards. :beheading:

Sure they were. The dragons are the mightiest. Blackie has shown the over-grown one where his place is!

Cowardly Black Dragon picking on a poor Giant. He was just lucky that a Titan wasn't there.

Oh, and there is a file called H3ab_ahd.vid in H3-Complete. Anyone know how we can view it?

Hmmm, if that's actually the intro movie of AB maybe you could rename it as intro of Roe, so it could play when you start H3 Complete. Just a thought ;)

Woho, hold out!

Now where _exactly_ is that file located? On your HDD after installing? On one of the CDs? If it's on a CD, which version of Complete have you got? Ubi or 3DO?

Give us all the details! Quick ... please. I'm yearning for it.

(I remember searching my CDs for something like that - without success. I think I also searched the 3DO folder after installation, but I'm not sure on that.)
