Is there a place where I can see the summon event schedule and perhaps look at past events? Thanks

Part is in the news thread. Problem is with Surprise Summon Events, which are basically the ones for which you ask.

There are also official news, with schedule. Some of these are here.

In older times they also announced it on facebook, together with contests. Which was nice. Nowadays it's much less frequented.

A good thing is reserving diamond idols you gather from rewards here and there and then consider whether it is good or not trying your luck on the Summon Events. Many Legendaries are available like that. You can skip some in favor of others.

But, as Pol said, they haven't updated news on those events for a while now, although you can go to the official site and track back one year and see what was going on, which is somehow similar.
