Heroes V Version Clarification

Unread postby Angelspit » 04 May 2006, 18:44

There has been a lot of confusion regarding the various versions of Heroes of Might and Magic V. It's important to remember that based on your country and the edition you choose, the content of the box will not be the same. Here is a summary of the information we received from Fabrice himself:

Regular Edition: includes a manual, available to all.

Limited Edition (United States): it comes with 3 additional maps, a special aura, Heroes III and IV as well as a soundtrack.

Collector's Edition (Europe): it comes with the 3 maps and the aura, Heroes II, a statistics card for factions and an art book.

Super Collector's Edition (Web only): it's the collector's edition plus the contest coin and the certificate that we saw in a picture some time ago.

Heroes Complete (available in the future): Will come will all games of the series.

Please note that expansion packs are not included with the various packagings of the game. So if you want the Winds of War or the Armageddon's Blade, consider picking up the regular edition of Heroes V and finding a copy of Heroes III/IV Complete in store. There. Better now?

That's no typo, that's really HoMM II? I've been looking for this game for years! I hope Israel is considered Europe...

By additional maps I mean standalone single-player maps. And there is no expansion with any packaging, sorry.

I must have 60 copies of H2 already from all the various special editions. I don't think I need another one... any idea what the relative costs will be, AS?

I have no information about the retail price. The standard edition appears to be around $49.99 everywhere, but the "special" editions will be worth much more.

IF, (and that is a big if) I buy H-V, I guess it don't matter which one I would get since I own all the earlier versions. I assume the ones that will come with H-V are not the same as the originals, are they?

I for one would like to know what kind of Editor will come with H-V... Like I mentioned on the forum, H-V key features states "Challenge your friends in furious battles and create your own level with the Editor"; Jeff mentioned since it don't state what kind of editor, then it could mean anything. So I guess it don't necessarily mean Campaign Editor. Does anyone know if this will be a 'Campaign Editor'? If anyone has contact with Fabrice, could they asked him? This does seem to be an issue with several on the forum.

I know the collector's edition is exclusive to GAME stores in the UK, for those of you in Britain who might be wondering why it isn't in any other stores, come the 19th.

What's an aura?? I really wanted a Creature Stat card with my Limited Edition! :(

I'm really upset that UbiSoft would go so cheap as to not include a Creature Stat card with the Limited Edition.

Yes what the heck is that aura you get with the game? 8| Does it mean the box glows?
