French Government Steps Back

ImageThe Ubisoft hostile takeover saga continues as the French government refuse to 'intervene directly in the fate of the company', despite being 'concerned about French video games group Ubisoft' and worried about seeing French games technology come under foreign control.

reports that, as yet, Ubisoft still consider EA's actions as hostile as they have had no contact with EA regarding their investment. Ubisoft have hired an investment bank called Calyon to help it reject a possible bid from EA, although this does leave Might & Magic fans (certainly this one, anyway!) on tenterhooks as to fate of the long-anticipated Heroes V announcement and indeed, the game itself.
