No Unicorns and no Phoenix... Disappointing. I suspect lots of people voted the name not the units.

They make this vote too easy when they display a seductive succubus juxtaposed with smelly rat face. :devious:

Phoenix would fit in Inferno. I'd like to see an Inferno with fire themed creatures and no demons.

"I'd like to see an Inferno with fire themed creatures and no demons."

Inferno IS a Demon faction.. their entire lore is demonology... so to say inferno with no demons is to say academy with no wizards or sylvan with no elves... just doesnt fit you know.

To me the result still seems weird. Unless the fake votes were cast from the very first moment and unless very few of them were fury votes, the shift seems statistically ridiculous. Of course no one can say for sure if Ubi won't release the distribution of votes throughout the voting period.

If I were them, I'd totally erase all votes that have been cast by users that didn't exist prior to the poll. Or maybe erase only those that seem to have cast the vote the same day they were created.

The results seem more polarizing than before. I guess the account spammers were going for strength?

That's the point. Having races fill out a bunch of unit ranks is in bad taste.

Demons can be anything from humanoid creatures with horns to gargantuan, fucked up things that in no way resemble humans.
Which is why I like "demons", there's complete freedom in terms of how they can look, what they do and how they do it.

Unless you have strickly budget which means, that you probably see units from previous game with minor changes (see Angel or Cavalier desing and animation in Haven H7 blog page).

And that would be a great improvement, except we usually just see a bunch of red, flaming goats that look way too much alike and in some cases are palette swaps of other units.

TT made a list of all the palette swaps. For example the necro zombie and the inferno zombie. :disagree:

What are you talking about? If you are talking about ghouls and dementors, they are different models. They are a bit similar in shape but they are still different models with different animation. The only models which are shared are water elementals with spring spirits and glories with light elementals.

..and:
- Darkness Elemental and Faceless,
- Manticore and Lamasu,
- Cate and Shadow/Black Dragon and Dragonwraith/Spectral Dragon,
- Breeder and Breeder Queen,
- Ahribban. Azkaal and Pit Lord,
- Phoenix and Thunderbird,
- Kirin and Enraged Kirin,
- Timber Wolf and Dire Wolf,
- and more less obvious.

Sylvan Lineup, New Faction Vote

Sorry, but no. It's obvious that bosses look like other units, only more unique. They are based on other models; they are not palette swaps however. Faceless and darkness elementals are somewhat similar but again they are not the same model. The same goes for the Lamassu-Manticore pair. They look alike but they are not the same model.

The wolves are nothing less than the classic normal and upgraded form.

They are the same model, same as in case of ghoul-maniac-tormentor. All what is different are their "skins", the core is the same. Faceless use Darkness Elemental "skeleton" too.

Bosses are not unique - they have the same model as normal units, only bigger. Thunderbird have slighty different skin, but still it's just overgrowth Phoenic.

One Wolf is core unit, other is elite unit and 2x bigger, so I wouldn't call them just "upgrades".

They are similar, not the same. How can you not see that they are diffierent? Palette swaps is what they went for in the MM games back in the day.

I thought they were hiding the results...

I'd prefer they do unit reveals now. It seems like they will repeat the previous method and only reveal units after a faction has passed the vote. :disagree:

At this point my thoughts already wander towards expansions. I hope they will happen, and I hope they will bring the missing factions. If we should end up without Inferno, Dwarfs and Asian faction it would be a pitty,
