Unread postby darknessfood » 27 Oct 2012, 19:22

So has anyone pleyed this one yet? I recentle started it, and I like this one. Still have to play it all the way through to know if it's better then the others in the series.

So far, it's pretty good to me!

No, but I'm thrilled too. Curious for more information.

I will not be having time for gaming till the Christmas, maybe longer. RL calls, that is. ;)

Well the formula was great, and they just added to that! Your hero now stands next to your troops (and has his onw attacks and stuff.
New troops (from what I have seen so far) are comparable to the Barbarians in the others games.New school of magic, also to be seen.
Also, they added some new and exciting music! It's pretty damn good!

Also playing, just got off the first island. Classic King's Bounty goodness...

Well the best way (for me, a Dutchy) was on Steam. There was e pre-order action (in which you get the Valkyrie edition, and Fantasy Wars, which I already owned, so I have a spare copy now). Price was also reasonable. It's €27,99 nog I believe.
It's worth every cent!

I know right! Gonna play some tonight, I guess. I got my achievement for winning 20 battles without losing a unit.

The frequent crashesm, though, are definitely not part of the classic King's Bounty goodness...

Ah nice! I just discovered Fastland. I kinda went from Vestlig (or whatever), to Istering (I believe it's called that). I need 40 more battles, and I got the Grand Strategist medal :).

Warriors of the.. is proof that if you have good formula you don't need revolution to make a good game. :)

I'm looking at you 'don't want H3 remake' crowd

I've been wondering, is it a sequel to Kings bounty the legend or another standalone addon?

I've recently bought the platinum edition of kings bounty that contains the legend, amoured princess and crossworlds. Looking forward to trying it out! and now there's another one lol!

Hey df, how do you like the game at this point? Some reviews were on the negative side; saying the game was too easy, even on hard setting. There was also mention of the lack of unit types in the first 4 towns.

Well I loved the previous games a lot, so you might see me as a fanboy. If you also feel the love for the previous parts, it's a no brainer. They just give you more, with a few twists. It's a fine game! Reason people might find it easy is that you can fly (apparently, I figured this out by accident when I wass drunk and pressed the wrong button). Flying can make the game easy, but if you don't use it, it's a fair challenge.
Part of the first Island is kinda true. Not a lot of units to choose from. On the other hand, it introduces the new Vicking class pretty well. If they would have given us the options between new units, and old known ones, people may let je new class step aside. I guess they were proud (and with good reason) and went for it. The units are great!
Also, the new music is really awesome!

The big failure mode of the King's Bounty games is that, as it goes on, you become too powerful for the enemies around you and stop needing to try, or you fail to become powerful enough, take heavy losses and run out of money, and need to start over. (I like the mini-campaigns in Crossworlds a lot for this reason.)

When playing Armored Princess on Hard difficulty, it wasn't until the second half of the game that I reached this point. I'm currently playing Warriors of the North on Impossible. I'm on the third island and already feel that way.

Not sure what the difference is.
