It was green around Mt. St. Helens. Not that green but nowhere in real life is that color.

Technically the lave isn't going anywhere, so grass growing at some distance around it is actually realistic...
The lava being that liquid while in contact with air over such a big surface... not so much... good tihng it's magical demon lava...
