homemade portraits for HoMM IV

Unread postby Karmakeld » 12 Nov 2011, 23:21

I was wondering if anyone has made any heroe portraits? I've made some myself for at campaign in preogress and would like to share, but I've had a hard time finding other home made ones, that fitted the style.. (btw anywhere to upload?)

Unfortunately, no, not really. I don't think there's any "bank" for H4 portraits, but no reason not to post yours here if you want to.

I have also made several that I used in Lamentia's Story, and a few more on my abandoned campaign. I am assuming you are using the Facetool app for Equilibris. I would like to see the ones you created.

seen the ones in Lamentias. yes, used equilibris facetool. But all edits was made in paint :creative: think I've finally figured out how to add them, here goes (these are my svamp elves - some have bigger changes than others. I'm especially pleased with Tonwen and the ones bases on the archer elf (creature). Also Sannah look mean) Originally I wanted to introduce them as dark elves, but most of them weren't pale enough, and it fitted my story better to make them Svamp elves:

I wanted to give the player the ability to choose character (the 4 Astral's) Zombie, Vampire, Skeleton and Necromancer (each given a class and bonus' that match the individual). But instead of just chosing a vampire pics, I thought it'd be more cool to use the same person, and I'm happy with the result. The mummy is for a pharao character - last 4 mumies were testings. (edit. removed 4 mummies and added ghost Astral)

You can download some new portraits from http://modhomm3.free.fr/. Click on "Portraits" under "Heroes4" category in the list to the left. Although most of them don't look consistent with original HoMM IV portraits

yeah I managed to find this site some time ago, but as you mention yourself, they're not exactly the same style as HoMM IV. Just made 2 more - zombie pirates. Image Image

omg, what happened with my beloved Astral portrait? 8|

But it's true, we all will get such a rotten face, before we end up in a skeleton outfit some years later. :hoo:

Sorry, didn't know you felt that way about Astral. But I guess he got drawn by the dark side  If it's any comfort, I renamed him to Moorgué ;)

Meh, portraits is one place H4 actually totally fails at imo... what is that thing on Sandro's head anyway?

Although i still prefer H2's portraits, H3's more realistic ones are good enough i actually will admit that my preference for the H2 ones is just a matter of taste...

I did import the H2 portrait of Kastore into my H-IV campaign Lamentia's Story (if you used the accompanying new_mod.h4r file), though you had to chose the correct storyline to see him. He is/was a major character in the campaign I was making and I used that same portrait.
