Ubisoft and Nival Cease Partnership

In an unexpected turn of events, the Ubisoft official site <a href="http://ubi.com">announced</a> that Ubisoft and Nival Interactive broke their Heroes V development contract. As Fabrice Cambounet explained in an <a href="/https://www.celestialheavens.com/509">interview</a> to Celestial Heavens, both companies had gathered a sufficient amount of complaints with each other. In particular, Ubisoft blamed Nival for its perceived lack of progress, slow response to feature requests and bug reports, as well as absence of qualified managers with experience needed to carry out an international software project of Heroes V's scale. Nival, on the other hand, protested against Ubisoft's decision to ship all copies of the game, including those intended for distribution in Russia, with StarForce protection; Nival claimed that it violated their agreement, which put Nival as the sole Russian distributor as Heroes V.

However, Fabrice assured Heroes fans that the development will continue where Nival left, although it is currently unknown whether Ubisoft will develop Heroes V in-house or hire another developer. Hopefully the interview will explain the situation and stop the flamewar that has already <a href="/viewtopic.php?t=1257">started</a> on the Round Table.

It would be somewhat strange in reality, don't you think? To brake a partnership when the Heroes V is almost ready...I don't think any company makes such decisions...
