Heroes VI Demo Now Available

Unread postby Angelspit » 18 Aug 2011, 15:09

A demo of Might and Magic: Heroes VI is now available on FilePlanet, according to community manager Irina on Twitter. The demo, which was hinted at during the Gamescom trailer two days ago, has less content that the beta from what I heard. If you give it a try, please share your impressions with us.

I had some minor difficulties with my download from FilePlanet, namely it seemed like it froze for a while, so I'm putting it up as a torrent for anyone who prefers this method of download: http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/6613673

The download seemed to go fine (although it took FOREVER), but when I tried to unzip it, it said the file was corrupted and wouldn't unzip it. Anyone else have that problem?

I've downloaded it from Fileplanet.. no problem at all. Installed and started playing the first campaign. It crashes and keep on taking me back to desktop.. but this won't stop me as I think it is to do with the power of my laptop. I will keep playing it and continue on playing. It doesn't crash on the same area, just as I explore. I will buy a new PC if necessary to play this game!

After 10 mins of play I must say it is a HUGE improvement on H5. I think I'll really enjoy it.

I'm downloading it from Fileplanet right now, to check how it'll go with my PC. 2 hours more until download is finished.

I'm getting 40/s top at FilePlanet. I'll try Metathron's torrent once I can log off my VPN.

Played a game with the Necromacers (sheeesh, the AI is PATHETIC!) the game seems to be running slightly better then what I played with my friend, but there are some things still bothering me:

- the Blood/Tears points/skills are still RIDICULOUSLY easy to get;
- the Racial Ability levels are even easier to get;
- you can buy ALL of your army from ALL of your castles in... whichever castle you own;
- Artifact Merchants switch their trades each and every week.

The game still runs for me like it has been done in a rush with some things that are not well think of. Hope they have some of the things I mentioned in mind...

I think he meant that you can buy and actually rally all your armies into 1 city while buying, no matter how far they are from each other.

:cry: Well, halfway downloading the stuff and the link broke...

Funny, I reinstalled it and now it runs. But it's painfully slow on my computer. :/

The game seems kind of poorly optimized. I have an i7 920 and a GTX 470, and I still get occasional slow downs. Sometimes map objects take a few seconds to appear on the screen after loading a game. There's also a bug where the camera gets locked.

Hmm, does work like a blitz on my much weaker configuration (Pentium E6600). Perhaps i7 wasn't yet "expected"?
