mage lvl2 problem

I'm just bought the game during the steam sale and I'm having problems with the mage campaign second level. I rush the upgraded mage town and get to it during the first week, But after I take it over the game runs super slow.

IE having to wait a minute or 2 to get into a battle or for a popup to come up or for the castle screen to load. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I would guess your system is looking for something it can't find.

it eventually gives up. but yeah.

Reinstall.
