Transcript:

"Welcome, Heroes!

I’m Julien Pirou, also Marzhin on the forums, Lead Level Designer on Heroes VI. I’m here to answer some questions you asked on the forums, fan sites and Might & Magic Facebook page. Today, let’s talk about the heroes.

Of course, you all know that you control different heroes in the game. In Campaign mode, you have 6 pre-made heroes, linked to the storyline: Duke Slava, Anton, Anastasia, Kiril, Sandor; and the sixth one which has not been revealed yet. They each have a totally unique model and face that shows on the map.

When you complete a campaign, you unlock new heroes. There are other ways to unlock new Heroes. It’s up to you to find how! In Multiplayer mode, you can use the pre-made heroes and the heroes you unlocked. You can also create your own hero by selecting his or her class, gender, model, portrait, specialization and name.

In both modes, you can also recruit tavern heroes as secondary heroes. They all wear helmets and are not customizable. Their model is different depending on their gender and their class, and of course they have unique 2D portraits, specializations and names. By now you may have guessed that heroes specializations are still in the game and work exactly as it in Heroes 3 and 5, meaning that each hero has a unique skill.

Now let’s review heroes’ mounts. As you can see, each faction has its own mount, but basically they are all horses. If you played Heroes V you may recognize the Hell Stallion the Inferno hero is riding... There are also special heroes that are on foot. You’ve already seen the Orc Kraal walking around in the Stronghold dev diary.

Now let’s tackle spoiler questions about the characters, so if you want to keep the surprise stop watching now! One of the great fun of the Might & Magic series comes from the heroes appearing in several games, thus becoming legendary heroes. I’m sure you’ve heard of Crag Hack, Solmyr, Sandro, Lord Kilburn... and so on. So, if you’ve played the previous games set in Ashan or the ones before, you can expect some familiar faces in Heroes 6. Also, you might want to keep your eyes open for references to the ancient Might & Magic universe.

It’s all for now. I hope you learnt interesting pieces of information and there will be more info on heroes coming at the end of February. See you soon for another video Q&A at the next turn."

I for one love his 'orrible accent... it's been a while since i actually had to pay attention while listening to a youtube video.

Marzhin, repeat after me: "The scales on whales are mainly on their tails." (Fish Police was awesome, you all need to kill yourselves for not watching it, you bastards)

While some news is better than none, where exactly is the new news here? Everything that was mentioned was already known.

Seriously, enough with the old news already and tell/show us something no one has seen before.

- H3/H5-style hero specialties are back
- "unlockable" heroes from finishing campaigns
- other unlockable heroes
- customisable multiplayer heroes
- create-your-own-hero feature
- H5 mounts are gone
- some proper references to "old universe"

Almost all of that was unknown or unconfirmed.

I was not expecting a French accent; Russia, but not French,

I do like the French accent very much though.

Do i get it right that certain heroes are available in multiplayer games only if you have completed the campaign, bought the limited edition or have some other special achievement, which has nothing to do with the particular MP game? Or does the campaign have multiplayer mode?

And really these questions were the most important or the most common ones?
If I were on Ubi place, I would choose to show movie from in-game how it looks, so people can judge it themselves, not some artworks or speech only.

Marzhin basically confirms in public there will be links to the old universe. Snootchie-boochie!

Make you strong places to dwell and practice the evil of your arts. Build great monuments to stand through the ages and remind your followers of the task with which you have been charged. Use these halls of iniquity to perpetrate your schemes against the infestation that has taken the fields and lakes of this land from you, their rightful masters. Never forget the hatred that must finally overcome and consume mankind. Dwell in your dungeons and brood. - Sheltem the Dark
