[Heroes IV] Problems with Windows 7 64 bits

Unread postby Kartabon » 26 Aug 2010, 10:45

Hey there guys!!! I have a little problem, hope you can help me out with it:

I installed yesterday HoMMIV from Heroes Complete pack, with its 2 expansions in my laptop, which has Windows 7 64x. First the original, then GS and finally WW.

Then I started it, and i noticed that my fps were about 5-6. I didn't care, started one scenario and fps went down again to 5-6 and didn't improve. I tried starting it with admni privileges, with Windows XP SP 3 compatibility and no way, it kept going down.

I even installed equilibris, no changes. I can run any modern game at full graphic resolution and can't play a game from 2002? XD Any hint there?

Thanks in advance guys :)

Try switching between windowed and fullscreen modes and see if it helps.

Ty for that tip Emerald, now it works in fullscreen, but doesn't in windowed and the problem is that i want it in windowed.

So, since it works in fullscreen, i've thought about the colour of my windows. I changed it from 32bits to 16bits and.. VOILA! It works!!!!! Ty Emerald, u drove me in the right way :)

Interesting. That problem is also in WINE, and the solution here might be quite helpful there as well. I'll have to try it once I do another round of WINE tests.
