HMMV question

I'm on HMMV TOE editor and I want to make it so that there's only 1 hero per player and that so when the main hero of each player is defeated they simply return to that towns tavern rather than disappear. Ideally they'd have the tavern but only be able to hire the main hero when he/she is defeated or retreats.
