H3 AB expansion problem

Unread postby Kin Korn Karn » 24 Feb 2006, 03:49

Great site, I've lurked for a long time but now I have a question.

I have the original Armageddon's Blade expansion CD for Heroes 3, running it on XP Home. The problem is that I can't save at all. The game crashes if I try to save, or try to pull up a saved game. It never even gets to the save screen, just crashes when I click either "Save" in game, or "Load" from the menu screen.

I haven't had any luck finding a workaround for this. Any thoughts?

Oh, sorry, I should add that the original H3 works without a flaw.

When the game crashes that annoying "Send an Error Report" dialogue box comes up. I suppose I could provide that info if needed.

I hope someone has a fix for this :(

Is this the first time someone has asked about a problem like this?

I uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail.

I believe it's the first time I've evr heard of it, and I'm afraid I have no idea at all as to what to do about it. Have you tried installing it on another computer to make sure that there isn't some fault with the CD?

Yeah, I'll give that a try. Heroes at work!

I probably will just break down and buy HoMM3 Complete.

Do you have installed all AB patches?

I remembered this problem even if I was never had to hit with that so hard, but yes, sometimes the game crashed when you attempt to saved it.

Try to seek for pathces on celestialheavens.com or fileplanet.com

No AB patches installed. I hadn't even thought of that either. I'll give it a shot.
