Lords of War & Money

Unread postby HodgePodge » 12 May 2009, 00:23

Hi all, a friend showed me a great game, Lords of War & Money. The game just celebrated it's one-year anniversary. It's free & really fun.

The battles are real-time with people from all over the world & the monsters are directly from Heroes V. All the factions are there: Knight, Wizard, Elf, Demon, Necromancer & Barbarian. You can change your Faction every 24 hours so you're not stuck if you don't like what you've picked.

You can build up your own Castle & recruit your army from it. If you get killed in battle, your army is restored in 15 minutes. You can start learning your Skills (Talents) at Level 5 and many Artifacts are available. You can start casting Spells at Level 5 when you build a Mage Guild in your Castle.

To earn money, you can work in a variety of factories (each shift is one hour). You can play Arcomage in the Tavern with other real-life players from all over the world & can place a stake when you reach I think Level 1 in the Gamblers' Guild.

There are many quests to do at the Mercenary Guild which also pay money, as well as Hunts to do on the Adventure Map which also pay pretty well. Anyway, if you're looking for a really fun diversion, try this game. Just register and play, it's FREE! :-D

See you there. My character name in the game is Zephyranna. :)

Heard of this several times, never tried it though I was too busy. I'm not sure if I'll try it but maybe I will.

btw I think it was renamed from something else because they breached some copyrights
No matter how powerful one becomes, there is always someone stronger. That's why I'm in a constant pursuit of power, so I can be prepared when an enemy tries to take advantage of me.

It was originally named Heroes of War & Money; but I'm sure if any copyrights are currently being breached, UbiSoft would be all over them like horse flies on a birthday cake. I'm also sure that UbiSoft knows full well about Lords of War & Money and maybe even encourages it. Anyhow, it's loads of fun and it's free. :-D

I am perplexed that Ubisoft is allowing this to go on. It was the title that breached copyrights? The whole game is a direct copy of HoMM V!

But I guess it's allowed since it's free. On the one hand, it could encourage people to buy the real deal, but on the other people could be satisfied playing this without buying HoMM V.

Not my cup of tea, though, these online games.

Somehow i doubt that Ubi owns the rights to TBS's or Warhammer... they prob changed the name so it would be too obvious though...

Exactly, just like piracy is free advertisement for the movie industry.

I've made a video showing the similarities and differences (well, some of each) of the two games (and it's in HD). I plan on making a second with more information. You can sometimes find me playing with my sister Khalbrae. We're level 4. =D
