Already did all that. It's installed in C:\GOG Games\ and I tried compat mode (Windows wants to give it XP SP3 by default), and I do have it set to HW mode, and those settings are indeed set. Then again...

I played for awhile after booting and closing the game like 20 times to make sure the problem went away and now, after eating supper I tried to boot it again and it will not boot at all.

I think I fixed it.

After a bunch of googling, I came across a website that instructed me to turn off Discord overlay (I never even use the stupid thing anyway).

It will now boot 80% of the time and only occasionally crashing which is way better than it was before!

Why would it be overpowered? If you equipped all +10 resist items then you deserve easier time. Also magic resistance only affects a handful of effects: "Paralyze, Stone, Dead, Eradicated, DrainSP, Age: MagicResistance" and there's no prot from magic in mm6. You can bump the res with day ...

+resistances never gives +Magic Resistance. At least, in the original MM6. They probably kept it that way? /shrug I assume the reason that is, is because it would be absolutely overpowered as most magic status effects like Curse, Sleep, etc would almost never land on you once you got up into the 50s...

If you want to turn mouselook off and go back to original, there's a setting in the .ini file for that:

\mm8.ini

Line 21: MouseLook=1

change that to

I tried M&M 7 and found that i could hire tons of hirelings. At original the limit was 2 person to hire. Is it bug or enhancements? If all hirelings works the game balance ruins badly. That might have been done because MM7 was unique in that it allowed you to have more than your 2 hirelings but...

I'm pretty sure that it's supposed to be 2d3+4 because that's what most other daggers are, not counting Long Daggers.

EDIT: Nope, I was wrong. They are 2d2+3 in the original MM8.

Some people might not like that bolster thing, and decide that hey, let's say you start MM8 first to get those cool classes, but you finish Jadame and you're some Level 90. Did you installed GrayFace's patch previously? Check your 'Data' directory for following files: '00 patch.games.lod', '00 patch.icons.lod', '00 patch.T.lod'. If any of them present, remove. *facepalm* Gah. I thought for sure the first time I Tried to install this, I did this out of a fresh GOG down...
