Yeah, the problem isn't Ashan, it's that the writing is terrible and monotonous. They act like they're trying to write some serious deep historical epic but it just comes off as a kid trying really hard to be adult. The old Heroes world wasn't super creative or amazing, neither were the stories. But...

The Shadow Council was pretty pointless. They clearly weren't given much of a budget. So they could never implement most of the ideas or changes fans wanted. Instead, it just became a distraction and drain on their resources. They just ended up wasting money and time try to make some shallow changes...

Heroes 4's early reviews were significantly better than Heroes 7's. People were willing to give NWC a chance because Heroes 1 - 3 were great games and didn't have huge problems and bugs when they were released. Whereas Heroes 5 and 6 were both released in terrible states and took a long time to fix,...

I think Nival deserves another chance. Heroes 5 had a lot of problems when it was released but most of them got fixed and there were a lot of cool new ideas and improvements after the expansions and patches. If they take the lessons they learned from Heroes 5, they could make a great game.

There are so many problems that I'm doubtful if they will be fixed. The game crashes half the time I try to start it and I had no problem playing Witcher 3 on the highest settings. It's so poorly optimized and it uses so much system resources for no discernible reason. The game just feels sluggish. ...

They are wizards. And there's probably more magic in less hospital areas since there are fewer people using it up.

Why not just create a brand new spider faction? Or at least add a special spider creature with the ability to wrap the dead in cocoons so they can be preserved to be raised as undead.

I'll give them credit for giving the guardian/justicar reasonable armor.
