Every spell has its use...some (5th lvl) are very specialized and only useful in certain occasions...too few occasions, IMO.

Sorry, Im referring to the HOMM III series.

Currently playing through the Chronicles as Tarnum...halfway through 'Master of the Elements' right now.

IMO, the 4th level spells are superior to the 5th level ones. 5th level spells, other than Fly, DD, or Implosion, seem too specialized and limited in scope. Aside from my thread on 'Town Portal', there are others that seem more powerful: Chain Lightning, Water Walk, Prayer, Ressurection, and Meteor ...

'Uhl Belk' looks suspiciously similar to Edwin, Red Wizard of Thay in 'Bladur's Gate'.

I really dont have a preference for town types. I think they are all pretty balanced...except for the Stronghold and Fortress...which are good early game bases.

If had to choose, Id probably pick Tower or Dungeon.

I usually play on Expert.

Once in a while Ill try 'Impossible', but the first few moves are of crucial importance.

Cripes, don't tell me he's also in HOMM IV and V.

I love the HOMM III series, but it seems once I get the Town Portal spell (along with Adv Wisdom/Adv Earth magic), my hero is practically invincible. I can simply load him up with all my available troops, and teleport around the map, eliminating the AI generals easily. Anyone else notice this? Same ...
