It might be a small map(like the land of outcast, ai and I can rush in week 2), I should say that In week 2 if the money is good you can hire a 3rd hero, so your army could be bigger than that, and like Elvin said: try use obsidian gargoyles and steel golems, they are the right army against Dungeon,...

Yes but even with a magic user you need a tough unit to shrug off blows. 4 colossi will survive,10 genies won't.Disappointing and not self-reliant.If I continue to build colossi on week 3 will depend if I see the artifacts I'll be able to buy can make up for it.Or if I will have the money in the fi...

I never act on rigid rules and tend to be adaptable according to the situations.About unwise,I don't know...My army needed this tank a lot and greatly enhanced my potential. One of the few times I enjoyed some colossus action too ;) The increase in my other units wouldn't be as useful at the time be...

Hi, Just out of curiousity, I tried a game on the said mystic vale with Heroic difficulty. The only thing I can say is ... It's an eye opener. There are a lot tricks I pick up that I usually don't observe in my campaign game. Like: 1. Always split into small stacks of 1s. This will make enemy waste...

I was thinking about a good counter to your strategy... Thought about the hero Laszlo with his strong squires. The strategy works like this: Invest everything into squires. Get light magic with magic imunity, and when fighting the archmage put only one huge stack of squires on the battlefield, and ...

Well thanks Raistlin, you seem eager to at least backup your claims, and help us plebs improve :D , so thanks for that Well, you're welcome. The fact is I start play h5 this summer and stop in Oct. because I played in my work place and then I quit. Since then I can't get too much chance to play h5 ...

Ok what I am asking for; however, is how you personally handle these situations (week one), or how the best of your people would. Day by day for the 1st week. And tell me what creatures are guarding your mines, if you take them, how...I am really curious. Do it via private mail if nothing else. Sor...

To stefan.urlus: ok, I see your point, and I can't agree more. This test is a feedback to a player in aoh who assert that the MMR only works on a rich map. One problem each time, ok? I said I'll try it this weekend, and even more players in our bbs will try it too. In fact, the quarterfinal could be...

The really tough ones are the zombies (they may be slow but that plague hurts, and they do have a fair ammount of hp), War Dancers, bears (oh my!), and steel golems. Your gremlins can not kill them fast enough, your magic is near useless (vs golems especially) and you can run them arround and arrou...

To my suprise the toughest fight (walkers) I faced was War Dancers. They made it past my gargoyles so fast it was a joke. (hitting multiple at one time). My poor gremies got slaughtered. Yea, War Dancers is the toughest walker in week 1, their initiative is very high. Still, take them by your tacti...

Ok, I have tested this about 12 times so far (on heroic) and to be honest I am either the worst most unlucky player ever, or I am missing something. At the end of day 1 I am about 4th level (which I admit is not bad). I go from the castle to left circling arround the castle, capturing everything I ...

perhaps not, but you're putting it out there, so pony up or lose our interest Maybe first thing you should do is try it, if you will. If not, maybe you can be more careful about your tone, being a little bit polite won't make you look smaller. perhaps not, but you're putting it out there, so pony u...

I know beat ai is unimpressive, but as I said, we all have job to do.stefan.urlus wrote:against the AI .... well that is one thing to note, and it is good that it is usable on different maps against the AI, so well done for that at least
Maybe this weekend I'll beat a real player with MMR, just wait.

was that against AI or human opposition? The guy is play against ai. You know, most of our player have jobs, so we can't put a certain time on this. The player here mentioned it: he must save time to do that, but he didn't invade the ai's territory, take their town or mine to help developing speed....

Well you are busy testing this strategy, our players are testing too. I remember someone on this forum mentioned No Man's Land? OK here is a new test done by that Jhora player. And he also wrote his comment about that test for you :) Below are his comment and screenshots. orz…I've posted it just fe...

Test the MMR in No man's land——Heroic level
Here is one of our aces do a test you've required on the certain map. I test the MMR stratage on the map——No man's land. Yes, it's a very difficult map, more difficult than the Mystic's vale, the city starts with only one level. In heroic, it's hard to develop. But I conquered it also. I built the 5...

I gave it a try at the map two coast(ver 1.1) and here are my impressions: Building up to golems it's pretty easy to get capitol and mage guild 4 asap.Even though I got just wasp swarm/lightning bolt/confusion/phantom forces/s.elementals/arcane armour(chain lightning, circle of winter, curse of nethe...
