In a six-minute long video on Youtube, we get the first gameplay sequences of Dark Messiah for the Xbox 360. The action takes place in one of the new levels created specifically for the console port, and we get a first look of the enemy life bars and the quick belt, which looks like something from Deus Ex: Invisible War. There movie narration in French, made by an unnamed member of the development team, can be summarized this way:

  • The artificial intelligence has been improved by Arkane Studios.
  • All multipler classes have been redesigned from scratches, based on the feedback of PC players.
  • The game will provide more visual feedback when fighting bosses, so that you know when your attacks hit.
  • The new interface includes an auto-lock and a "quick belt" controlled with the D-Pad.
  • The game has a new introduction level and new sub-quests built from deleted scenes of the PC version.

I get the feeling that an easy game (at the default level at least) will get even easier. Dark Messiah: Elements is currently in alpha, and currently scheduled for an early September release.
