Baldur's Gate
Just started playing. So, is there any way to see how much life your enemy has?

That's what i don't like about old games, lack of info/features. Then again, looking at H5...Angelspit wrote:I don't think there is -- you just have to hit them until they fall.

On second thought, wasn't there some sort of indication about the health of every character in the log? Something like lightly injured, seriously injured, dying and so on? I prefer this "lack" of information, as a mage can't never tell for sure if a magic arrow will be enough to kill the orc who's running toward him with his axe in the air...
We could double-check a screenshot of the game somewhere.

Yeah, in log there are THAC0 rolls, spells, damage,...
Anyway, I like not knowing the exact hp of critters, in real AD&D I've played, DM never told us how many there is left, and as game follows rules of it, there's no such thing here as well.
Here's off-game documentation of creatures statistics if anyone wants to know.

I played BG Dark Alliance on PS2 and got hooked. Thinking about buying this collection from Amazon...

I think it was a good buy.
Sadly, I can't get Baldur's Gate to work on my PC anymore. The second game works fine, just not the first. Icewind Dale 2 also doesn't work well on my laptop. Something with the keypad doesn't register properly and the game barely recognizes inputs. Makes it very difficult to type in a character name.

And the chickens. Those damn chickens.
