Anyone having problems with the autoupdater?
Here's the error log I get when I use the autoupdater. Anyone else seen this or know how to fix it?
Trying to download version file from http://patches.ubi.com/all_products_cab ... agic_5.cab to C:\DOCUME~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\ubi27.tmp.
Succesfully downloaded version file.
Found update for targets (Heroes5, US, p1)
Trying to download update file from http://patches.ubi.com/heroes_might_mag ... .03_us.exe to C:\DOCUME~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\ubi29.tmp.exe.
Succesfully downloaded update file.
Verifying downloaded file's CRC: 19098caa vs expected bfeb9e7b.
The downloaded file CRC does not match the CRC specified in the version file.
The downloaded file had an error.

OK, well I clicked the http://patches.ubi.com/heroes_might_mag ... .03_us.exe link and manually downloaded and installed it and it worked great.

So far the most likely explanation seems to be that the auto update doesn't work correctly if there are mods installed.

er, for those that are using the *cough*nocdcrack*cough*...
don't forget to restore your original exe before you run the updater.
AFAICT, the 1.2 version of the *cough*crack*cough* can then be used to overwrite the exe after update. seems to work OK, but not sure exactly what one might be losing from the 1.3 version (likely not much, as most of the changes are contained in the data files). it is stable, and so far no issues that I can detect. I'm sure the 1.3 version will be available soon.
just some general information...

Don't know if I'm rehashing what was on the first page of the thread, but if it's a question of autoupdater selecting the right downloads or even having it available, the following worked for me like a charm. install UBISoft's 1.1; whether you have it or not, even installing it manually will make whatever update program you have work much mor efficiently. Then, after 1.1's installed, go into the file directories and find "Check For Updates," it won't steer you wrong after that. Least it didn't with me. Hope it helps... if this has been rehashed 20x in this thread don't beat me too severly.
No mods or tweaks that I'm aware of here and I've had autoupdater issues the last 2 patches ...joerginger wrote:So far the most likely explanation seems to be that the auto update doesn't work correctly if there are mods installed.
