Dark Messiah Demo is Out

At 1,415 megabytes, the file is gargantuan, but hopefully the people who look forward to that game have a high-speed connection.

I haven't seen any reference to Steam for the demo. However, I'm pretty sure the final release will use it.

I heard that the demo lasts something like 15 minutes. Better think twice about burning all that precious bandwith.

Takes quite a bit of computing power....Act of War hacks for me so I think I'll skip this until I upgrade (not long now till advanced Conroe cpus are out)

a) allows download of the Demo WITHOUT having to subsribe, sign-up, or join anything

b) has decent download time(tried to get it off one site and it said estimated time 100 hours - screw that)

More like 10 min. You pick up a crystal, fight 3 guards, then you start a new mission. You kill 5 or 6 orcs and you see a HUGE ugly behemoth and the game ends...all for 2.3 gigs!

Dangit, for some reason when I try to download the demo it always stops part of the way through. It got stuck on 46% for an hour and a half. I really want to try this game, why is it so difficult to download?

One and a half gig for a 15 minute gameplay demo? The fact that many people have powerful computers and loads of bandwith doesn't mean software does not need to be optimized. Did they just take the whole game and removed all the level files except one. I'm gonna skip this one. I have the speed and bandwidth but I refuse to contribute to the waste of perfectly good bandwidth for a file that could have been optimized by only putting in the data required for the demo. Anyway, for those of you who have DL'ed it, enjoy the game!

It wasnt that good at all, very short and the graphics are outdated and the combat gets boring in the demo.

A little bit unoptimized the demo and no 800*600 resolution interesting.

You need to have adrenaline (gaind by kills - think it's the yellow bar near your health).

Well, I finally got it, and I got more than 15 minutes out of it, about half an hour of gameplay. I think it is fun to play, the graphics were amazing on my PC, and there were many guys to kill. Got to fight a few blackguards, an archer, and 7 or 8 orcs and goblins.

The performance however, was not optimized. The first time I tried to play it it froze. Then sometimes when I was playing it would repeat a sound over and over for a bit. Took a long time to load everything, and after they show you a big boss, the game basically just kicks you out. Screen went blue and nothing worked any more. Had to shut it down.



The game is an absolute blast, however, the demo was not spectacular.(I really wanna try it over a few times with different skills, but I don't want to have to keep shutting down my PC every time it's over) If your PC isn't great, don't bother.

Sometimes at my computer the games sounds repeat too and the performance sometimes get stuck so many optimizing will be need until October 19 I think. And the loading screen s time are vast big.

Well, I have found out a way to prevent your PC from getting booted after they show you the boss, just press esc an the menu comes up. From there, you can start a new game or quit.



Man there are so many cool things to do with the environment. If you use the Flame Arrow spell, hold it own and move the mouse to guide it. Whip the mouse around a bunch of times in the orc area to cut every rope and unleash every deathtrap.

Careful, if you make the orcs mad, they grab you by the throat and toss you off the cliff.
