I'm from a small mountain town from the central sector of the Eastern Carpathians, in Romania. When I go to school, I have to cross a railroad track, a bridge over the Mureş river, the town's central area from one end to the other, then another bridge (over the Valley, a tributary of the Mureş), cross a neighbourhood and go up a hill... all this in 25 minutes of normal walking. If I'm in a hurry, 15-20 minutes.
There's been a lot of controversy regarding the fact that somewhere near my town there might have been the site of an old Dacian citadel (the Dacians were the inhabitants of most modern day Romanian territory before the Roman conquest), but not much real proof exists.
To the north and to the south there are mountains of volcanic origin, great for trips. To the south-east there's a depression following the course of the Mureş river. To the east, the road across the Carpathians and into Moldova, a region of Romania (my town is in Transylvania). To the west starts the Mureş Gorge, which is a wonderful landscape especialy in autumn; just imagine: the cliff, the road, the Mureş, the railroad and then cliff again; and all the cliffs covered in the colours of autumn.
It's a nice town... from certain points of view. But I like it nonetheless.

Nice to see my old thread get ressurected
Anyway. I live in the township Ørlandet (Orlandet) in the district Sør-Trøndelag (South-Trondelag).
Pretty nice palce, close to the coast, and also terrorised by the winds and in the winter it gets pretty cold here but in the summer, its a countryside paradise with green fields, lush woods and high mountains
The fishing industry dosent play a big major role here as in North Trondelag and the northern part of Norway, but still we harvest corn for animal food and bad industry bread, called "kneipbrød". Most of the corn goes for animal food, about 73% I think.

You can see from my user profile where I live now, but I grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. I suppose the only interesting thing about that place was that during the Cold War we had Nike surface-to-air missiles installed about three blocks from my house. Presumably they were there to defend Chicago in the event of an attack. At any rate, that site is long gone and is a pretty nice park now.

The Country of handsome looking people and smelly, corrupted politicians. I am from Serbia, South-East part of Europe. Niš, is it's second in size city and a hell hole recently. A country of lovely landscapes and good food. Cheers people.

Now that we have the location thingy with our names it will be easier to tell...
Maybe if the topic starter didn't have "Secret" as a location
