Picky beasts aren't they?
I'm on the Inferno campaign, on the mission called The Ship.
I ran into a group of spectral dragons underground who want me to bring them 100 hunters or master hunters, but every time I bring them, I apparently fail with the message "Picky beasts aren't they? Now I have to start all over again", and then a few of the hunters die.
What's the trick here? I've brought 100 hunters, 100 master hunters, a combination of both.. nothing seems to work.

Did you bring EXACTLY 100 hunters? Odds are, if that was what you set-out to do, you forgot that they tend to desert Agrael on the way back to the Dragons... I forgot about that little thing, gave Agreal exactly 100 hunters and when I got there, I realized a couple had deserted (so I only had 98) and they refused... next time, I came back with WELL OVER 100 so that wouldn't happen again!

Yeah, but I'm sure he brought more then JUST 100 hunters... like 100 hunters and some green dragons or imps or something.Kalah wrote:The way I figure it a hero cannot give up his last creature. So if you have exactly 100 hunters you only have 99 to give away...
I'm positive it was just the desertion thing... same thing happened to me.

The thing is that the map is scripted to take away a few of your Hunters/Master Hunters every day. So if it takes you three days to travel to the Dragon with your Hunters, and you only started out with 100, you won't have enough by the time you reach your destination. Just be sure to take "extra" Hunters so you'll have at least 100 by the time you reach the Dragon.

That happens all the time... I take a castle with a secondary hero and the cutscene shows my primary hero taking the castle... and he's miles away on the map!Minmaster wrote:i noticed only agrael loses sylvan units but if you buy another hero they dont. weird thing about the scripts and cutscenes is that i first approached the dragons with my secondary hero, but in the cutscenes, they show agrael i think.
That's a repeating thing in all the campaigns!

Hmm...to put i simply
1) Agrael must bring the 100+ Hunters to the Dragon
2) Aragel must > 100 Hubnters as they will desert him
3) Slyvan troops won't desert a secondary hero
My suggestions
1) Have a secondary hero goes with Agrael, and before talking to the dragons, transfer the 100+ hunters to Agrael, and have Agrael speak with the dragons.
2) Put the 100+ Hunters at Algan (the northern most town nearest to the dragons, above ground). Use Summon Creature spell to transfer the hunters to the Agrael, then speak with the dragons.
