HOMM5 Sales?

Unread postby vanzagar » 24 May 2006, 23:33

Just wondering how the sales are doing for this game so far, or is it too early to tell... I would you pre-orders could be tabulated...

Like the game would hope there's enough support for a sequel and at least a patch...

I sent a note to Fabrice - not sure if he's gotten any sales figures yet though, it might be a little early. From the overall mood in the forums it seems the game is selling quite a few copies though. The quality of the recent reviews is also likely to contribute some more as the rumor spreads around the globe.

1. Is this for the UK only? Sports games are incredibly popular over there.
2. It's still early. Many are probably waiting for the reviews. If these are good, the game will get some more attention.

It sounded as if it's UK only. It didn't really give much info. And it is #1 for PC sales.

Ubisoft appears to be doing a much better job of promoting the game than 3DO did (of course, 3DO was short of cash for marketing I guess as bankruptcy approached). I remember HOMM IV being quite difficult to find in stores, whereas with HOMM V the sales rep at London Drugs said they had ordered the game and expected to get it within 5 days of the release date. Since London Drugs doesn't carry an enormous game selection like Electronics Boutique or Future Shop--they didn't even have Civ 4 for a long time--I find that suggestive of a strong marketing push.

I think it's too early. It should appear on gamespot's us sales chart when it gets wide release.
