Hell yeah,the demo is now public to everyone, so go and download it on Steam! What's new you ask? Well some things are:

-new (special) infected
-melee weapons
-new characters
-new game mode
-new campaigns

So a lot of new stuff to enjoy. First I was against it all (announcing it within a year) but after playing in, I'm impressed...

Well, I'm still against it. CBA to play the demo, the first L4D was no revolution (though it was a fairly good game) and I have a plenty of other games to play.

Oh, and I'm against buying anything off Steam too, so I'll play it or even buy it only if hell freezes over.

Well they certainly seem to have improved it a lot since they first announced it... they even put in new skins for the old special infected. I bet they'll say they always meant to do that...

New Infected called Jockey (who rides you and pretty much busts your neck):

The spitter, who spits acid which does a lot of damage when survivors stand in it:

Can't find a good picture of the hunter for now...

Hunter just has less sleeve etc..

Pretty much just the demo for now... maybe when the game is on sale (and i have a card i can use online).

But i have DoW2, we could play the campaign co-op or Last Stand if you have the game.

And I would not.

Played demo. It's neat. Esp. I liked the part when surv have to fight through the endless horde to turn off alarm. There were no such things in 1st game. New guns&infected and damage system /gore/ look cool too. Totally buying full version.

Yeah, but l4d maps are much harder to create than tf, for example. Look at original campaigns. Most of objects are created specifically for that campaing. Hospital stuff, Airport stuff etc.
So far not a single fan-made map is even close to original by gameplay and design.

So, steam id?! Maybe we can all play together once...
