I'm confused. For those that already have HOMM5 and it's expansions, why would they even want to play this watered down, cheap looking version?

To play against other people, many more and in a more persistant way than you can in a round of MP on a single map.King Imp wrote:I'm confused. For those that already have HOMM5 and it's expansions, why would they even want to play this watered down, cheap looking version?

Great news. Some free HoMM is always welcome.

Wow.. as a big Utopia fan this is great news. Some of those screens had a bit of a Master of Magic feel to them too. Very promising.
It’s likely the game with be like Utopia in that it uses advertising to pay for its fees. Ubisoft will likely use it as a platform to advertise all their other games in popup windows or bars etc. I for one have no problem with this as I have no interest in paying fees. Although I can already see the future where the more 'spoilt' fans in this place will whinge endlessly about the adds due to no understanding of the costs involved.

hmmmm, I'm not actually sure how I feel about this .... at all, I might be alright, but since I'm not an MP'er I don't see much benefit

I'm not much of an MP'er either; but if it's really free of charge instead of just another 'bait & switch' scam, then maybe I'll take a look at the game when it's released. My guess is that Nival has something devious up their sleeve so I'm not gonna hold my breath.asandir wrote:hmmmm, I'm not actually sure how I feel about this .... at all, I might be alright, but since I'm not an MP'er I don't see much benefit

I'm not sure Nival has anything to do with that game. It's UBI's world, and they dont need nival to make browser based game.

Ehm, you're wrong. This is HoMM Online. The chinese MMO. From the pictures i saw, it seems that HoMM Kingdoms' battles will look out like the quick battles from HeroesV - possibly with more options.
Sorry to disappoint you...

Excuse me but "nice"?! It was like... a 12 seconds clip from the game, and I don't think that's from the Kingdom MMO, I would guess it's from the online game they released in China, and if you look, that little video was added to youtube 11 (eleven) months ago.
Sorry to come down so hard on you but... you fail =/
Darn, ravenheart beat me to it
