Baldur's Gate
perhaps I saw the finished product shall we say
that implies no involvement or voyeurism, though I have to say that your mind works in very strange ways E
except that now that you mentioned BG1 being pregnant, I wonder if it's perhaps hatching nunber 3, my luck will give me another copy of 2

Icewind Dale 2 tried. The story was weak, but the character creation and just about everything else was superior... well, everything but the Monks. They just sucked with the one punching animation.
Maybe they'll make a new game using the 4th edition rules? That'd be pretty sweet.
Additionally, for those curious, here's what wikipedia has on the rule changes. The most important being the loss of three core classes. Somehow I could see the paladin, barbarian, and ranger getting the axe, since they are primarily variants on the fighter.

Dungeons & Dragons 3.5 Edition to 4th Edition
Based on limited information released by WOTC, specific changes in moving to the 4th Edition will include
8 Core Classes instead of 11.
Overhaul of the previous cumbersome grappling rules.
Overhaul of the multiclassing system.
Change in per-encounter resourcing with all classes having some per-day, per-encounter and unlimited-use abilities and more survivability after a number of encounters.
Rules for varying power sources
Weapon-specific maneuvers for the Fighter class.
Core rules extending to level 30 rather than level 20
Racial abilities that improve with level up to level 10.
Elimination of Challenge Ratings.
Core rules will include multiple copies each of the Players Handbook, Dungeon Master Guide, and Monster Manuals released over time with each new version also a part of the core; including but not limited to certain core classes not being present in the first PHB and certain core monsters being spread out over each installment of the Monster Manuals. Unlike previous version with just 3 core rulebooks, 4th edition will rely on multiple versions of each of the 3 books to constitute the core system.
Encounters will be designed based on what monsters are near the same level, and then given some reason to explain why they would be in the same encounter. [6]
Monsters can also be leveled down to make them avaiable at earlier stages of the game. [7]
that would be very cool, the problem with icewind dale compared to BG is the story and it's associated characters and characterisation .... the game itself is excellent .... play it as a multiplayer where you generate all the characters and it's fabulous indeed, but it's not gonna win a storytelling award

perhaps, but maybe they won't or even if they do then they'll do it properly and make objects in your way properly translucentEthric wrote:Even if they managed to tell the story as well, they'd surely ruin it all by making it 3d and shinyasandir wrote:it could be, if they started a new adventure with new characters under the newer rules, that'd be sweet, great story and you're set I reckon

Oh yeah, my bad: I should have talked about swoopy 3d cameras, 3d in itself isn't evil as long as the view is a sturdy isometric. You might say that if the camera is adjustable you have isometric as an option, but that's not entriely true since it won't be optimised for isometric.

Nothing more than a rumour but I might as well post it. Baldur's Gate 3 is in development (again)
If any of it is true the followng line seems scary..
"it's being made by a company that believes in pushing technology forward."

I, for one, am dying to find out what colour they paint Michael's toenails.

They were supposed to make three games for PS2, weren't they, after Dark Alliance? I heard that the developers got bought in a hostile takeover, and so the third game never came... Making a sequel to Throne of Bhaal... I'm skeptical.
I just played through BG1 using EasuTuTu - much better that way, even though the water is green...
