Wrong, they are no longer giving out keys, and haven't been for some time now. Unfortunately I missed the period that keys were available.

Surely there is someone out there that is tired of their beta, or even maybe happened to aquire an extra key by accident

The keys can only be used a single time, hence the reason for their existence. I doubt anyone actually registered for a key and never used it, but you never know. Someone may have accidentally registered multiple times or decided to not install the beta after downloading. It doesn't hurt to try..

Actually, the keys are worth 3 activations and can be used simultaneously with differant comps, at least that is what I have gathered from going over the official forums.

You can actually activate the game 3 times with the same key. I gave my key to a friend so he can play singleplayer and I was able to install it on my comp, but I got only one activation left now.

I was under the impression the same key couldn't be activated twice within a certain amount of time, but maybe that's just on a single computer.
