Well, as there is no Titan (H1's loss), i went with the Dragon. He looks cute. :devious:

Now if I could only get HoMM1 from somewhere... ;)

Dragon does look cute, but voted for genie. I never played homm I but genie seems to be pretty much as in homm II. Killing half of the stack option is just great.

My beloved Warlock town...

I do so miss you. Blue Hydras, Purple Dragons, Yellow Griffens...

Not to mention the blockable Centaurs (Hydra or Griffen above Centaurs from top to bottom front)!

I like the paladins... mostly because of the clinky noise they make when they walk. And their 8 foot gold swords.

It's funny..I'm playing HoMM1 campaign this week. Just to bring back old fond memories. Damn...This was my first game that I became addicted to. Since HoMM1...I've never looked back. Bought every HoMM games & expansions!

I like the Dragon for it's power...but I don't find it cute! Purple? As we all know HoMM1 was cartoonist in it's unit graphics. My all-time favorite is the Phoenix hands down. Ultra fast & packs a punch!

Anyway...I'm glad to see a HoMM1 post. I posted the other day about HoMM1 maps. A guy replied & he posted a link..if anyone is interested.

Aww, someone who's nostalgic about HoMM I as well. :hoo:

I gave my vote to the phoenix, just because I played the best with the sorceress' army.

The graphics of HoMM I were very adorable and the dragons are really cute. :-D

Genies rocks!!! But I'm right after leading Warlock forces in H1 campaign. I was seriously furious in king of the hill map for 2 reasons- I had to abandon my ultra-defensive tactic ;) moreover when attacking with my barb hero leading knight units I met a bunch of opponent's heroes using armageddon spell...after surviving 2-3 fights I had to castle and attack with weak hero and about 4 dragons. It was so nice feeling to see their forces completely helpless
Yep, dragon in both 1&2 is a simplification, yes, you play only till you have 5 of them (then only watch), yes, they should be much weaker if the game aim was to be balanced. But it was also great- to wait only for one unit, defending all till you'll be rich enough (I expect that vast majority of players hate that type of playing, but...) and fighting off mad attacks- what was really a thing in heroes 1, as e.g. even knight units were imo better on the field.
Long live the purple Dragon!

Like Good old Games and you won't even need DOSbox. Trust me, the quality of the music and sound in any downloaded version is horrible (I've downloaded about 3 just to compare to my legal copy).
