1000 Gold Well on Emerald Island - how to activate it?

I remember it had something to do with luck. But we've misplaced our old cluebook, and there is nothing I can find on the net about this specific well other than a quirky cheat about dying.

I thought you had to be broke for it to work, but I might be confusing that with MM6.

I do remember that it tends to reset after the party trains. Though there seems to be a limit to how many times it resets.

The Flamestryke website mentions using the Anvil ("button") to reset the well but I have not found that useful. I haven't found any use for the Anvil ("button") (and I'd love to know if there really is one).

As far as getting 1000 gold from the well, yes, less than 200 gold and more than 14 Luck for the character using it. It will only reset 2 times, after sleep or training (so, 3000 gold from it in total, IME).
