Never happened to me with HoMM IV but it did happen with the first Broken Sword game, which on XP reports that there is not enough free hard disk space, when in fact there is zounds of it. I think this may be an issue with some old(er) games which simply cannot fathom the huge numbers of hard disk space/RAM that are the standard today and report them back as insufficient. But at least in the case of HoMM IV, you can just press next and be done with it.

I see this all the time. Obviously, makers of old installers never thought they'd need to recognize different units. :P

The a same thing happens when I try to install a game that requires an older version of DirectX.

It happened to me too, several times, but I don't know if during H4. If I recall correctly it can be ignored.

Yes, my machine made the same claim. Smart computer, it knows that 128 of one thing must outweigh only 2 of another thing...even if the first are mice and the second are elephants. :creative:

It would be awful indeed.

That's a misbelief by the way, because elephants are rather careful beings, than frightened.
