Well I fear for the once individuality and originality of this. Google just bought it, so expect it to become very commercial in nature. And once commercial in natture like everything else, it will have less originality and individuality.

Well its not the only movie sharing site,so theres no need to worry about its originality. Also,Im not worried about adds, because you just learn how to tune the adds out.And you dont have to worry about something such as membership fee because there already is google video, and that one is free,so it would be dumb to make this one just membership exclusive.

Some people were under the impression that You-Tube would in fact be heading for ruin, after another popular video series was exposed as nothing but a ploy to get attention and create a hype about the site... Also, some analysts believed lawsuits from the entertainment industry would eventually bring You-Tube to its knees:
«YouTube is romancing media companies, just as Napster was. YouTube will take down copyrighted content if you complain, just as Napster would. And YouTube's model is based on masses of material available without regard for copyright status, just as Napster's was. So, mark my words, YouTube will get sued. And it will lose»
- Josh Bernoff

At least now it seems it will continue to exist in some form.

Google bought Youtube? Well, where is the problem? They'll probably unite it with Google Video to counterstrike the upcoming Soapbox.

Naah. From what I understand, LucasArt actually is rather liberal with allowing fans to create stuff in their universe. Wikipedia's article on the matter is rather sucky, but it seems to confirm my view.

I don't think youtube is going very far. The crappy video, the irregular streaming, the proprietary format -- it's destined to be replaced.
