Hey there, good heroes!
I'm currently GMing a Might & Magic game using Savage Worlds, and would like to ask a bit about the "fangarms" from the Horn of the Abyss community expansion (maybe, I should direct this question to another forum? Dunno...).
I have yet to play the HotA expansion campaign, and I can clearly see that the creatures are cthullesque inspired - but I'd like to know if the team had any lore behind the fangarm when they choose it. I have some ideas on how I want to use them in my table, but if they play any relevant part on HotA, I'd prefer if I could keep them closer in line to their original vision.
So, that's what I'm looking for! ^^
Help a fellow tabletop gamer around, will ya?

Re: Fangarm creature lore
one thing I never understood. When fangarms first appeared, I didn't know what they were so I yahooed and found just Homm game references.
Now years later, I google and see the same thing.
I think you might as well just invent your own lore.
I really dislike fangarms, btw. They feel overpowered to me/ add an unpredictable game element that the AI doesn't play well.

Mmmm, I see. A pity, was hoping someone around here had some idea on how they came to be implemented into HotA. Well, thank you for your input, Cjleeagain! ^^

According to this, "fangarm" is a German word meaning the sucker on a cephalopod's tentacle: http://heroescommunity.com/viewthread.p ... number=366Vinicius_Zoio wrote: ↑09 Jan 2023, 02:43 Mmmm, I see.
