Might and Magic Teaser...

There's a small teaser for an announcement related to Might and Magic on the brand's <a href="/http://www.facebook.com/MightandMagic?v ... ">official Facebook page</a>. It's basically only a poster with a Haven (?) town and the words "A new era begins...", and a very short Flash video becomes available if you "Like" the page (a Facebook account is required).

I will let you speculate on the meaning...

"A new era begins..." -- Another new era? I'd much rather read "Back to the roots".

I think it means that UbiSoft is going to launch an "Ashan 2.0", bringing us a new Heroes game and a new role-playing game set in this world -- at least one of them being an MMO.

Seems like not muche information. But still enought to make me Curiose.

Due to the fact that the New MaM World of Asha is geting more and more positive reactions from me, I hope that the information comes out until the edn of Summer

To add more information: Ubi Newsletter arrived today:

"La nueva guerra de Ashan comenzará en 7 dias"... or,

"The new war of Ashan starts in 7 days", if you translate it.

Either announcement of Heroes 6 is next week, or Heroes Kingdoms takes a step forward... I'd bet for the second one, to be safe, but who knows.

Kingdoms has been playable in North America for a couple of days now, the timing would be a little off for this teaser.

Also, notice the Heroes copyright at the bottom.

But no newsletter for me.

Well, Ubi did state that the Heroes of Might and Magic line would just be called might and Magic from now on, but I'm pretty sure it refers to the HoMM Online Game coming out of beta.

Finally, now i can complain about something people will respond to... i was almost ready to give up and go to Age of Heroes to torture them with the old H5 complaints.

If you go to the US M&M tab and click on Heroes V, it takes you right back to the teaser page whereas the other two links take you to their facebook page. It's either a sign that they haven't got an FB for HoMM, or the two are related.

Just a note, Ubisoft puts all the related games under the "Might and Magic" brand, so that name doesn't apply to the RPGs anymore. That's why it's Might and Magic Heroes V on the box. And Might and Magic Clash of Heroes, Might and Magic Dark Messiah and so on.

As far as I know this teaser could mean anything... It could even be that they have nothing to announce and they throw this teaser just to make some noise.

By the way, I thougt that the only thing teasers did was to talk about what product they are referencing. But now it's not even that. It's like if they put a teaser in the Star Wars page. Certainly, there is always a new film or a new game or book in the works. But what exactly?

And I agree that is this if HOMM, there has been enough of "New eras" yet.

It's going to be Heroes VI. Really, what else could it be? We all know that Ubisoft would never make a real first person M&M RPG (because it's unprofitable), and it's obviously not a Clash of Heroes style game. However, I am sure that whatever it is, people will complain.

Ofc everyone wants new RPG, but it can just as well be promo for Kingdooms thats is in beta stage for a while and should be out soon.

huh, talk about dumbing down.

lets face it guys, Might and Magic is dead, all it will stand for now and in the future is endless Heroes copies and WoW wannabe MMO's.

its up to you modders and "indie devs" now, the fate of the name rests on you now, do not fail us.

well, here is my guess:

1. Developer's t-shirt describing the development of Heroes VI that was hardly 1 year ago

2. web based heroes game has totally different art style, this angel in the trailer is totally a Heroes V style

3. Dragon angel's newsletter: Ashan is absolutely something about continuity of the old Heroes V game

So most likely, the next heroes game.

as for "new era" crap, hopefully it is not Heroes 5k with Space Knights, Plasma gunner Elven and Galactic Demons.
