I think I have encountered this myself, so maybe it's a bug?

I think I've seen that one before, on the Forge town project's website.

Wow! This has the potential to be one of the greatest Heroes maps ever made, if you find the time and energy to pull it off. The text is well-written, and from my humble point of view (I'm not a mapmaker) the map looks good as well. I wish I could help you, but all I can to is to wish you all kinds ...

I didn't know about that insomnia-induced insanity. I usually let my characters rest whenever they're tired - or cast Cure Weakness. It just didn't (and still doesn't) make sense that they get any stronger when tired.
I feel a bit sorry for those sleepness Knights of yours.

I don't get why everone likes that H5 Necromancer - too much green. And H3 isn't bad, except the white horse. H2 is brown, not my favourite colour.

My vote goes to H4 male, for the bony appearance, the black clothes and the shiny armour.

Well 3DO was the one going out of business... maybe NWC hoped someone would buy them with the game instead of just the license... Sadly, that didn't happen. Imagine what we would have had if it did: No cheesy storyline in HoMM5, and Might and Magic rising from its ashes with a tenth installment, in...

I wonder why these weren't used in the final game. http://www.timetoyagers.com/bkemper/enlargedpics/Heroes3/Heroes3Trumpet.jpg Edit: Can any of you read what that scroll says? I think it starts with "He was..." Maybe I should e-mail Brian Kemper about it? http://www.timetoyagers.com/bkempe...

I never said that HoMM4 is a bad game - really, I play it a lot myself - but the new ideas could have been implemented in a better way if 3DO just had the time and money required.

The Map of Duchies

The map seems kind of bland, but the duchy symbols are very good, especially the Griffin and Wolf duchies.

If they had the funds for it, that is. Kind of hard to understand why they started work on HoMM5 when the financial situation was so bad for HoMM4 that it lowered the quality of the game. At least it resulted in some great artwork.

It could also be that some bad registry entries remain when you uninstall. If that's the case, removing them should at least enable you to play the game unpatched. I would try a registry cleaning application. You could also try to edit the registry manually, but since you're not too experienced with...

Basic skills simply make spells of the same element cheaper to cast - one spell point less for each level of the spell. And that's all Basic gives, as far as I know.

This was the easiest one: H4 Sorcerer (male). H1/2: Bring back good memories. Very good design with the robe and the beard. H3: I actually like this one, but not enough to vote for her. H4 female: If it wasn't for that wig, then, yes. H4 male: Orange and black look good together, and I love that bac...

Of course I voted for H3, no competition. But Manticore or Scorpicore? The colour of the Manticore somehow makes it look more natural (if that word can be used to describe a mix between an arachnid and a mammal).

H3 Manticore for me.

Edit: Oops, scorpions are not insects. :embarrased:

Tough choice, but I went with the Crossbowmen. Really useful early game, and with long range, they can do full damage round one.

PS: If it was an option, I would almost pick the Zombies.
