Leipzig Games Convention officials report "record breaking attendance" at this year's event, with an increase of close to 27% compared to numbers from 2005, according to Gamasutra. As many as 183.000 people have visited the exhibition center according to the article, up from 134.000 last year.

This is uplifting news to those who feared the future of the big game conventions would be in the gutter after the closure of E3 earlier this year. The rise in attendance at Leipzig indicate that gamers, producers and journalists all share a common interest in keeping such traditions alive.
