Just reminding everybody that said über-Orc has the power to close down the forum as easily as snapping his fingers. He also has the power to ban anyone he doesn't like and blame it on the gremlins. ;)

I am not altogether sure whether you are trying to be insulting or witty?

Thanks. You, on the other hand, would require the gross domestic product of a small country, and I simply cannot afford to give you that. ;)

That isn't random enough.

This one is:"I was watching a TV series Rome, it's having 12 episodes and seies as whole is from many places described like an excellent. To be honest I don't like it too much, old Spartacus was unequally better. The people here aren't looking realistical. Also storyline is a bit here and there unfolding only slowly. - But it led me to this short Caesar biography. Which is excellent - maybe just because it's so short." :-D

(PS We are always witty with smart cut outs and such. Based on that we were nominted to be moderators, admins etc. etc. ... don't forget it^)

I was watching a piece on Discovery channel about scientists trying to reverse engineer a dinosaur from birds, experimenting primarily on chickens. They had found a rather interesting concept that all modern DNA strands still hold all the characteristics of our ancient ancestors... it's just a matter of turning those genes on or off during the developmental stages.

Example: Dinosaurs have long tails with 16 vertebrae. Birds, including chickens have short tails with only 5 small vertebrae. When the researchers examined chicken embryos at a very early stage of development, they found the chickens had about 16 vertebrae in a longer tail... its just that at a certain point in the development, the genes to grow that tail are turned 'off' and it changes.

Now... Watching, I was wondering if these scientist had ever taken high school biology. I thought everyone with any education at all knew that even HUMAN embryos have tails. We have gill slits also. We just don't develop those.

The trick to the show was trying to get those chickens to continue to grow their tails by adding proteins, etc. They never seem to get one of these experimental eggs to hatch. How sad.

Maybe they never watched Discovery shows either ;)

Anyway, I think what they're doing is taking it too far :disagree:

It was. Not any more. They're sending more and more reality shows of people building things, doing stunts or making tattoos... I miss Battlefield and the other history shows.
