Even though I can not divulge their side (non-disclosures got to hate them) I can freely disclose the basic (ie not TOO much info) idea that I will be pitching.

It is sort of a combination Star Trek meets Fantasy. Humans find out aliens have been traveling space for awhile (in a way we could not detect), but finally humans were advanced enough for the others to contact us. Now the races are not much like the Star Trek races (well maybe some of their philosophies but not physically at least). Instead there are some races we considered mythological, and some that we never would have imagined ever. Now I can't give the plot, main characters, ect away, but I can tell you the basic premise of the races. (I have included them here somewhere else before hehe). They did warn me that the race names might change though.

Mercurian - Elf like, artisans/philosphers, main philosophy is "You will be treated as you treat others."

Venetian - Matriarcs (ruled by females), warriors, still adapting to other races. Battle tech second to none. Main Philosophy is. "You WILL respect us, or we will MAKE you respect us."

Martians - Dwarf like, Builders/Engineers/ect. Other then Battle Tech they have the best technology of anybody. Main Philosophy is "Too much rest is weakness. Rest is for the Sick or the Dead."

Jupitarians - Laid back, relaxed, they can work when inspired but prefer to lay on a beach or read a book. Philosophy is "Relax, you will burn yourself out." Easy for them to say as they live VERY long lives (even longer then Mercurians). Not unheard of for them to live 10,000 years.

Saturians - Almost like Jupitarians (some say they shared a common ancestor) only they like more active 'relaxation'. Things like riding surfboards in the constant hurricane on their planet, and jumping from planes (ect). If there is a risk the will take it. While not living near as long as Jupitarians there near 'superman' abilities keep them from hurting themselves ...too much... Philosophy is "Safe is boring, lets ride this plasma storm with our boards! (or some other crazy suicidal thing)."

Neptunians - Giant jellyfish like creatures that can store near unlimited knowledge. They are the Librarians of the Universe. Totally neutral and protected by the other races. Philosophy is "Knowledge before power, wisdom before strife."

Uranians - Ice people..think a whole race of Icemen. Philosophy "There is not much that is worth fighting for, but when you are left with no choice...win."

Andromedians - Purple Skinned. Males are :Avg Height 8' (rarely do they fall below 7' and cases have been documented of 15' tall ones), Avg weight 2000 lbs (pure muscle mass). 6 arms and all of them resemble mr olympians only MUCH bigger and buffer. Females are smaller and only have 2 arms but are considered vastly more intelligent. They are the voice even if the males and females share leadership equally. (Can take males a long time to talk as they have dense nerves that relay anything very slowly including speech and pain). It is near impossible to hurt a male andromedian and even if managed it takes almost an hour for them to FEEL the pain.

I'm currently talking a break from my grandfather's neverending tales of when he was young
I've estimated there's approximately 30 minutes till gorging begins and 3 hours till our greedy hands rip open presents 'en masse' :D

You will give him/her a name from the Heroes universe, right? I suggest Catherine if it's a girl. If it's a boy, hm... Guess Kilgor or Gelu or Roland would be a tad unusual...

:D Joking.

What did you and your wife really think of for a name?

It's better than Xeron (H3 exp. pack Devil guy...that was his name right?) (now that would be weird anywhere in a person's name).

hehe. :D

Whatever you choose, it should be at least semi-unique (that's what my dad did with me). You don't want your son/daughter to be named John/Jane in a room of Johns and Janes (my dad loathes the fact his name is Jose...every third person in Puerto Rico has that name :D).

well we went for names that weren't too common with the other two kids, so will probably do something similar with the next, but not way out either

Nor do I subscribe to the weird-spelling of names school of thought ....
