Plague Marines are sure bet. But there is a chance that Relic has some cool surprise.

BTW that video is awesome.

That's what i'm hoping too...

Also, the article mentions that one unit will get replaced... hopefully it's one of the Tyranid variants...

Short list... either balance is getting good or it's only a hotfix...

TT (and others), how does DoW compare to Starcraft? I'm mostly interested in gameplay and the user interface, to a lesser degree graphics and sound. I remember trying the first DoW but for some reason I found it off-putting.

Starcraft is pretty much classic RTS.
DoW2 is like Company of Heroes (covers, suppression fire, etc.) in WH40K universe (every infantry unit can fight in melee, unlike SC, where soldiers fire their guns even at point-blank range). Also DoW2 is more tactic oriented and squad based (you can only replace casualties near transporters, bases and a few other places), you have some global powers (like unit summons, buffs/debuffs or attacks), there is no base building and you gather resources by capturing and holding control points.

The best you can do is to try the demo and see it yourself.

If you didn't like the first one this one is even more off the path... and knowing Relic you're better off waiting for the next to last expansion anyhow.

Work sucks, indeed. Especially when you are on night shift and you are tired like I am now.

I hope at least Chaos Rising won't suck.

Well the MP can't really be changed much from what it is right now, though bigger maps would make a difference (it's not bad, but could use more terrain control options besides having troops there).

But hopefully the SP will have more Angel Gate type missions, hopefully 80%+...

This. The less "yet another kill some boss or defend something" missions, the better.

And even those need to have some variation to them, like having to actually chase a boss and fight him a few times in different location with different stuff happening etc.

Interesting Q&A

Selecting your Chaos commander and then selecting your Chaos god. Sounds good.

Oh for crying out loud, that's not what that says...

WP: The Chaos Marines have a very solid look, but how different is their play style from the Blood Ravens? In multiplayer, if you're switching from marine to marine, is it really that much of a difference?

JL: I'll get into a lot of details regarding multiplayer later in the year, but one thing I will say is that Chaos is built around the mechanics of worship. The choice of gods that you have is going to have a direct impact on your play style, and we think players are going to find that very interesting.
It could easily be that selecting your Commander also selects your God.

Of course implementing CoH style skill trees would be awesome.

They ditched the random side missions al together? C'mon, just make them very rare (one every 4-5 game days) with better variation between the ones that appear (if you have a defence mission not done the chances for another to appear should be halved etc.)

Figures that they'd leave out Slaanesh... http://community.dawnofwar2.com/blog-post/powers-chaos
For ten centuries the planet Aurelia, has been lost to the warp and was the playground for the Dark Gods Khorne, Nurgle, and Tzeentch. In Dawn of War II – Chaos Rising it is up to your Blood Ravens to reclaim the Planet in the name of the emperor and drive back the Dark Gods foul minions.

But at least Tzeentch is in.
