It doesn't bother me, at least if there are a few people posting it keeps things interesting, when I'm here all by my lonesome there's not much in the way of conversation

stefan.urlus: Most definitely. I'll explain. The Grade Point Average (GPA) is the average of the grades you get in your classes. I take five classes and a laboratory (i'm studying microbiology). Thus, a 4.0 means I got an A in every single one...because the grades have these values.

A: 4
B: 3
C: 2
D: 1
F: 0

Thus, the average of all 4's is 4. :D

Grades don't work that way in Australia? :what:

they do, to a degree, but we use A, B, C, D and F in primary and high school (though thats changing) which is years 1-7 and 8-12, then University uses percentages - GPA as such isn't used

Oh ok I see. :-D.

Well, universities over here use percentages to calculate the grade you have in a class, but use the GPA system at semester's end to calculate your grade.

Almost the same thing, IMO.

We had only 5,6,7,8,9 and 10 as the grades before, but now,due to the baloney convention, all of the points are calculated in the end.

That's a weird concept :-D. Who made THAT up?

Well, whoever it is, he/she can't be as bad as the US president (George W. Bush). Now, that's someone with international fame (of the bad kind ).
