Because it's fun, like cutting yourself or listening to screeching monkeys...

These guys are bloody peasants! They don't understand nothing about music. God will punish them for that.accabear wrote: I'm quite sure at least a few people have heard of Dream Theater otherwise I'll spontaneously combust and leave you guys to do the paper work that comes after.
Dream Theater rulz!!!

Exactly. My band and I will be playing Overture 1928 as our opening song in concerts.Veldrynus wrote:These guys are bloody peasants! They don't understand nothing about music. God will punish them? I highly doubt that, although the song 'In the Name of God' by DT is rather awesome.
But yes it's good to see at least one person who likes DT... looks like I won't burst into flames. By the way try Pagan's Mind if you like Dream Theater.

I'm growing increasingly obsessed with Finnish rock

My favourite is the the 42 minutes song Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence. Great stuff.accabear wrote:I thought that Scenes From a Memory was rather... unappealing to me. It did have some good songs though but I preferred Awake and Train of Thought, but the best one was probably Octavarium.
Edit: What am I on about? Metropolis part 1 isn't even from Scenes From a Memory.

Put in 15 more and you have the price tag for pinkpop. 3 Days of really great bands like Metallica, Rage Against the Machine, the Foo Fighters and Queens of the Stoneage!!!accabear wrote:I haven't heard that one yet. I should get around to doing so. Some lucky friend of mine managed to nab tickets to get to the Dream Theater concert in Sydney. Three hour concert with tickets starting at a hundred and fifteen dollars!
You can either agree with me, or be wrong...
This is how the get back the money they lose on illegal downloads...accabear wrote:You would think Dream Theater are rich enough to not charge such exorbitant prices... probably just the organizers wishing to rip off poor young adults and teens.
Well, popular artists won't starve as long people keep visiting their concerts.

Daem, those Amazon guys are really cool.. here's what I got in reply to my cancellation:
I am very sorry to hear that your order did not
arrive.
At this point, I can only assume that it was lost during delivery.
Therefore, as per your request, I have requested a refund for the
full amount of this dispatch.
I have requested a full refund to your payment card in the amount of
11.59 GBP.
The refund should go through within the next few days and we will
send you confirmation when it is complete. You should see this
credited to you on your next card statement.
[...]
If the original package should arrive afterwards, please keep the
items with our compliments, as the cost of return of the package is
prohibitively expensive in this case. Perhaps you would like to
donate it to a charity in your area if you feel it would be
appropriate to do so.
So, not only do I get my money back, but if the CDs should happen to arrive (if the Postal service ever get their heads out of their recta), I get to keep them
I guess that wouldn't be the case if I had ordered a £100 box set
