Sooo.... like why is cold brook water refreshing but cold tap water is torture? :|

Me? I went out and bought a new hot water heater because I got tired of being the one getting the cold showers after hubby used up all the hot water.

I'm to old for this Camping crap! Give me porcelain! I love to hike in the mountains, but I want to 'go home' to a toilet that flushes and a hot shower. KOA Campgrounds are fine! I don't mind walking to the facilities, as long as they are THERE. And a soft bed. I've got an inflatable for 'roughing it'.

I've had two boyfriends that tried to take me 'camping'. As in bed rolls on the ground and squat behind a tree. FORGET IT!

Lord yes! One of those 'old boyfriends' invited me to go up to a local mountain National Guard training camp for a weekend. He said he had a friend who lived up there all year long... so it sounded like there was a house, a barracks or SOMETHING up there. Wrong! This guy was living in what looked like a run down tool shed that was barely large enough to hold his food stores & some equipment. I spent the day hiking and looking at the view, then drove home.

Once, another boy friend took me & all the rest of our friends camping. This turned out to be everyone get falling down drunk and suck nitrous until one of the guys lost control of his arms and started flopping around the table like a jelly fish. Not fun. Then they didn't even have a TENT to keep the wind off at night. I was freezing! I got up and slept in the car.

Then, I actually DID go camping with my husband, one other married couple and a single male friend. The two couples shared one cramped tent, the single guy was alone. As I managed to end up on the 'down hill' side of our tent, when it started raining in the night, I got soaked. I moved over to the other guy's tent and said "Let em talk! I can't sleep in a puddle and at least it's DRY over here!"

Honestly, I'm tough, back woodsy, farm girl at heart. But I have my limits.

did a similar thing once, but it was an army exercise, rained all night and we weren't under shelter, just on a hill, had a runnel of water going down my back all night - that was no fun at all!

See, my grandmother lived in what is called a "Shot Gun" farm house all of her adult life. It really did look like one of those "Hill Billy" shacks you see pictures of on TV. At least hers had been expanded a few times, so it was much larger than what you normally see. She had a tin roof, NO indoor plumbing, never dreamed of A/C, and only a coal burning potbelly stove in the living room for heat. I can deal with using a 'chamber pot' or an outhouse. I can deal with drawing the water from a well. I can deal with heating the water on the stove and bathing in one big tub with two other girl cousins because it was such a luxury to have the water heated.

But sleeping on the ground and squatting in the woods? NO! There's rustic... then there is crazy.

LOL! Well, hate to burst your bubbles... I had two cousins, each within 3 months of my own age. We shared the tub until we were 8 or 9 years old.

No problems, you will get used to it soon.

Move way too fast trying to get a gf...like I just did (as in almost now, literally)...

Aw...****...nevermind. Ignore that...;|

What I meant to say was that...

One of the dumbest things I've ever done is apply for one high school (without telling my parents) and then not finding my application papers in another high school (the one I ended up going to, since it was more convenient) because the transcripts were at the other high school I had originally applied for.
