It was a drag at times, but it was nice to have access to the unit you opted not to go for.
And the chickens. Those damn chickens.

@TT: well, you still have the basi unit that you could upgrade somewhere else...

And remember that unless there's a way to retrain units, you really can't be switching back and forth at will (not that that necessarily would be bad either- it's very hard to change strategies in heroes as it is, and this might be a cure for that).

Actually, if you yourself believed your language was justifiable, you wouldn't be apologizing for it. :jester:

At any rate, I'm still not sure what's wrong with having both available. To my mind, a far greater worry is making both alternatives viable -- something Heroes IV most emphatically failed at (the most egregious examples being Genies vs. Naga and Cyclopes vs. Ogre Magi).

In all, I think I'll wait and see the system in action before accusing them of screwing up.

I'm quite happy with the news, it seems they are going with what I said they might. In basic terms, we get more units per town, and that's always nice. It can only add more variety to the game (if done right) and add more tactics.

I'm glad were getting this at least, I mean they could have shipped out the expansion with a new camp and some maps, and items and called it a done deal. Not even a new town, so I think this will be awesome. I do feel like I wasted some money on HOF now, err... Farmers of Hate, but well whatever. That's life for you.

And stealing from GOW, here is...

Bedsides of the Deceased

As we stand by the death bed of a great series,

We see orcs, and upgrades, and plenty of east,

We cry out in dismay when we learn the grave news,

We get nothing but orange dudes, wasted bucks, and a great mutant bat,

And nothing to play but half-baked sorrows of a world cast away,

And we wasted our money on a load of dumb maps,

And a dwarf called a thane that doesn't wear a hat,

And a cut scene or two that looks like "Psychics Anonymous",

No talking, no breathing, just standing so mute,

They wonder, they cry, "Sareth, your daddy isn't a good guy!"

Maybe we need to add poet's guild to the forums. :)

At the risk of sounding off-color:

Heroes V: Size of Her Teats

I mean, at least Blood Furies had believable proportions, but some of those Dwarven Female Hero outfits make me wonder just how they're going to go with this expansion.

How about:

Heroes V: Tribes that took bribes in the feast of the least and then went on an adventure and slew the beast of rhyming and with the deed done they all

developed an interest in yodeling and eating raw cake with the men of yellow and green who smelled very hairy and sweated a lot paint and perfume that saved the world from eternal peace and damnation of dirty things spoken quietly in the corner of the end that begins a new era of joy and bliss for all fruitbats in the world that snores wery loudly keeping the neighbours awake all night of the east.

if that sounds too exshausting to say i can always go with:

Heroes V:(Add insulting comment on Ubival's development and marketing policies here)of the east.

I for one find that Ubival's development and marketing policies insult themselves just fine. :devious:

Well, if I look at the tambourine guy, the weird guy with the handcuffs or the crazy goblin with funny sword, only one name comes in my mind:
