You must have played FFVIII, playing with Squall and a woman carrying a Whip, named Quistis.

And I'm quite sure that FFIX is available for PC too. If I'm not mistaken, FF XI too. ;|

Oh, well. It all depends on what you really enjoy while playing FF. The newest ones have different battle systems, whilst the old ones not, although the storyline was always something strong in the series. If they were linked...well, the productor should be really good as it to make such a long sequence of games following a single storyline. The common thing they have are always based on spells, weapon names, effects, fiends, bosses, and some characters, like Wedge, Biggs, Cid, Bahamut, Flare, Ultima, Omega Weapon. And so on. :)

they're designed for the console and work well on it, never found a need to get a pc version

All this talk of FF inspired me and I started playing FFX (had it for a while and never played it). I'm enjoying it a lot, although it's a little more linear than previous entries in the series. I think I have a thing for Lulu.

you wouldn't be the only one :D

FFX is very, very good, and although it can be a bit linear, just wait til you get to the monster arena .... that's pretty insane, and blitzball can be great too

And the Limit Breaks aren't too shabby either: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qAcc1Fzs_rs

Man, too bad no other FF game came to the PC since 8... :(
