Some of the units, such as the high templar, have a more cartoonish, informal look in Starcraft 2 as opposed to the original. I'm not sure where I stand on that, but I'll probably learn to like it.

Well the HT on the field in SC was pretty cartoonish, albeit being "serious" on his icon. I don't mind the new one.

Will High Templars be able to attack normally (like Tassadar could) or only through their special abilities (like before)?

nothing is final, anything goes, but in this case I'd bet that HT won't have a normal attack

They are really experimenting a lot.. atm they put the firebats in (yuck) and now they are considering not only modifying but even removing the thor because it overlaps with some other units. Cobra has now the slowing attack and the protoss orb is out (as expected).

the tempest is gone, the carrier is back
the soul orb is gone
the firebat is back
they want to remove the thor

In this manner they will make the same starcraft with 2008 graphics (something like dune2000)

Not to sound happy about the cutting of new units, but the Tempest was just the Carrier with another name and limited to ground attack... and the Thor is just a Siege Tank with feet... i don't mind the Firebat being back as long as they don't remove any other infantry unit because of it, and it gets some new abilities/upgrades.

Looks like they removed the radar tower upgrade and just made the Sensor Tower have all the abilities: http://www.starcraft2.com/features/terr ... rtower.xml

8| 8| OMG, THEY TOOK IT DOWN WHILE I WAS GONE!? 8| 8|

Also it seem that the enemy is notified somehow where your tower is built... that's kinda crappy unless the area it scans is huge, this isn't a C&C ult weapon that it needs that much of a disadvantage.

Yea I noticed.. but I think it should get seen by the enemy, you can fake bases like that so it's not a complete disadvantage.

and they put it back up... what's going on i wonder.

and what do you want, they reveal stuff only after they consider it done with a high probability of being in the final game.

Zerg FTW!

Hey! :flame: It's PROTOSS! My life for Aiur! But I think Aiur was destroyed.

But you know, I'm used with Zerg more than with Protoss. Zergling rush is just so fun. Plus, Hydralisks are sooo good too!

Nah, just overrun with Zerg... lucky for the 'toss that they don't share their inspiration's planet consuming proclivities...

Dark Templar rushes are also super cool (even though you probably wouldn't be able to pull it off against experienced human players...seeing as how it takes about 5+ minutes to get the first Dark Templar produced.)

I'm going to make a list...now that we're on the subject:

Favorite early to midgame unit strategies:

1) Dark Templar Rush! :D
2) Lurker Rush/Drop...:devious:
3) Siege Tank Pushes (nothing like totally preventing a poor AI player from escaping its base...since they can't think to use a Dropship/Shuttle/Overlord to transport units in and out ).

And I could keep going...I'll stop for now.
