When does simultaneously game play ends?

Regardless my opponent was not at sea and if he was he'd have to dock and reach me on next turn. Dead end from that point.
I, for one, am dying to find out what colour they paint Michael's toenails.

I've no idea about what's the reason, maybe the STS has a fixed deadline depending on the map size, I don't know, or perhaps the opponent got a movement spell.
